FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The area of West and McKinley is back open in Central Fresno after being closed for several hours for a crash involving a city bus.

The crash happened after 9 p.m. on Monday. Police say the FAX bus was on McKinley heading toward West when a van pulled in front of it. The van lost control, hit a fence, then a tree.

The driver and passenger in the van were taken to the hospital where officers continued their investigation.

"They will evaluate them. I think there was some alcoholic bottles located in the van. It's unknown if they were consumed this evening," said Lt. Carl McKnight, Fresno Police.

No one else was hurt in the incident.
