Officers say they found 24-year-old Benjamin Perez possibly high and drunk near Olive and Palm Avenues, and he began screaming at them when they approached.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A 24-year-old driver is facing several felonies Sunday night after police say he hit a pedestrian and two cars.

Officers say they found Benjamin Perez possibly high and drunk pulled over near Olive and Palm Avenues with a smashed window. They say he ended up there after hitting two parked cars and a pedestrian three blocks away.

They say the man has broken arms and legs but is expected to live.

"He had been struck by the red Honda, basically launched in the air, shoving him under a Jeep that the drunk driver ended up hitting," Lt. Carl McKnight with the Fresno Police Department said.

When officers found the driver, they say he was yelling and screaming and asking officers to kill him.

Perez is facing several charges including felony DUI and felony hit-and-run.
