Sikh cultural festival draws hundreds of kids in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Hundreds of Central Valley youth are participating in a free two-week camp to learn about the Punjabi-Sikh and Punjabi-Sikh American cultures.

The festival is in its ninth year and is sponsored by the GHG Sangeet and Dance Academy. More than 600 kids from the Fresno area are participating in the program where they get to try different foods and learn about Bhangra and Gidda dances.

Organizers say Punjabi dance groups from across the United States and Canada took part in the camp.
