According to Cal Fire, investigators have determined firearms discharged on public lands sparked the Detwiler Fire.

According to Cal Fire, investigators have determined firearms discharged on public lands sparked the Detwiler Fire.

Cal Fire said the specific circumstances surrounding the cause remain under investigation.

Anyone with information regarding the person or persons responsible for starting the Detwiler fire is asked to contact Cal Fire. A $2,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible and callers can remain anonymous.

The Detwiler Fire has so far burned more than 81,000 acres and is currently 97-percent contained and destroyed 63 homes.
