Felon armed with gun arrested in Southwest Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A convicted felon is back in custody after being found in possession of a handgun.

Police say 33-year-old Nicholas Delt was driving near Ventura and H Street when officers noticed his cars' tags were expired. When they tried pulling him over, Delt refused to slow down.

Officers decided to follow Delt until he abruptly stopped in front of Dick's Men's Wear and Shoes on Kern Street. He tried breaking into the store to get away from police but the door was locked.

When officers approached, Delt turned around revealing a gun in his waistband.

After requesting Delt to surrender, he eventually gave up peacefully.

He's now facing multiple charges.
