Police and SWAT surround Southeast Fresno home in early morning standoff

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno police were involved in a standoff Sunday morning with a murder suspect seen brandishing a firearm on East Tulare.

Detectives said Salvador Clemente was walking around with what looked like a rifle and that he had an outstanding warrant from Monterey County.

Officers said Clemente went into the backyard of a home and refused to surrender. He is also being accused of pointing the rifle in the direction of officers.

After several hours, Clemente was finally taken into custody.
