You can celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in September with food, fun and cultural experiences. The Guelaguetza Festival is a day to embrace indigenous communities.

Several Folklorico dance groups will perform representing eight regions of Oaxaca, Mexico. The festival includes great food, music and craft booths.

Guelaguetza means "offering" in the Zapotec language. The festival is September 24th at Calwa Recreation Park. The festival is organized by the Binational Center for the Development of Oaxacan Indigenous Communities or CBDIO http://centrobinacional.org/en/

Local band Monsanto will perform at the Third Annual Fiesta Night at Chukchansi Park on Friday, September 29th. The fundraiser for Centro La Familia includes food, dancing and a silent auction inside Downtown Fresno's triple A ball park.

Monsanto is a local favorite known for getting the crowd moving with cumbias and R n B classics. http://www.centrolafamilia.org/
