Two police officers shot in Bakersfield, suspect killed

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- One suspect is dead and two officers are recovering following an officer-involved shooting in south Bakersfield.

The incident happened shortly after 9 p.m. on Wednesday when police were called to a home for a disturbance. When they arrived, the responding officers were shot in the upper body by a man armed with a gun inside the home.

Officers fired back, hitting the suspect. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The two injured officers were taken to the hospital and are currently listed in stable condition.
