Marie Callender's Restaurant and Bakery closes Northwest Fresno location

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Marie Callender's Restaurant & Bakery closed their location at 3602 West Shaw Avenue.

The reason for the closure is not clear, but a representative from the location near Fresno State confirms the West Shaw location closed sometime last week.

The other locations in Fresno located on North Blackstone near River Park and East Shaw Avenue near Fresno State remain open.

Many people started reporting the closure on the popular neighborhood sharing site Nextdoor over the weekend.

The popular restaurant review site Yelp has a banner on their site for the West Shaw location that reads, "Yelpers report this location has closed."

The history of Marie Callender's, as written on the corporate website says "It all started with dessert. The legacy of Marie Callender began in the early 1940s in Orange County, California, when Marie, an accomplished baker, first launched her legendary pie business, delivering freshly baked pies to area restaurants.
