Woman sent to the hospital in critical condition after a shooting in Central Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- An investigation is underway in Central Fresno after a woman was found shot in a car. It happened around 3:30 Monday morning, with that victim able to drive herself a short distance to a Fast Trip at Dakota and Hughes.

Police continue their investigation and are trying to find out who is responsible for this shooting

Police said the woman was in a white car when she was shot-- the car was hit multiple times.

The victim called 911 saying her car was shot at and believed she had been hit. Police found her she did have a gunshot wound.

However, police told us the shooting took place somewhere else. It actually happened down the street off Pleasant and Dakota.

Police said the woman has a gunshot wound to her upper body and is in critical condition.
