Big changes to security are coming to the Big Fresno Fair and it all has to do with how people are admitted.

This is the biggest change to security the fair has made in years. The new policy affects fairgoers mostly on weekends and after dark.

On Fridays and Saturday, all guests will be required to wear a wristband while inside.

Anyone found without the wristband will be subject to police questioning and guests will also not be able to re-enter the fair those nights after 9 p.m.

Most importantly, all minors under the age of 18 will have to be accompanied by a parent or guardian after 7 p.m.

"There will be added police presence on the outside--there will be a police monitor in the station,"

The Fresno Police Department, as well as the fair's own private security, have all worked together on implementing this new plan.

The fair says it's done research on other large facilities and entertainment venues and found these strategies worked well.
