Car catches fire after crash in Southwest Fresno, 2 people injured
Two people are being treated for injuries after their car hit a tree and burned in Southwest Fresno.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Two people are being treated for injuries after their car hit a tree and burned in Southwest Fresno. It happened around 11:30 Tuesday night in the area of Kearney and Hughes.

Police said the driver and a girlfriend were traveling down Kearney when they swerved to miss a car and ended up hitting a palm tree. The two got out of the car and the vehicle caught fire and was destroyed.

The driver was taken to the hospital.

Police said the girlfriend was not really injured, but appeared intoxicated.
