Going to the Big Fresno Fair can be an experience the whole family can enjoy and with a little planning

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Going to the Big Fresno Fair can be an experience the whole family can enjoy and with a little planning, you can avoid spending a fortune if you know what to look for.

"The Big Fresno Fair can be the most affordable thing you come to all year. We have savings and discounts every day of the fair," said Deputy Manager Lauri King.

Wednesday was dollar day-- the Big Fresno Fair prides itself on offering families affordable entertainment.

"You don't have to spend too much money--just walk around. Today's dollar day, you can't beat dollar day," said Blanca Ayala.

Your entry fee allows you to take advantage of a number of free attractions. You can take a walk on the wild side and meet a Siberian tiger or pan for gold, take in a pig race or two. How about a puppet show or watch Brawny men roll logs at the timberworks lumberjack show. If you are curious about insects the bugology exhibit is also free, but it will cost you two dollars to feed the butterflies.

"They're different colors and beautiful to look at."

When it comes to food, that is where you are going to spend a bulk of your cash--$6 for corn dogs, $10 for deep fried frog legs, $7 bucks for kettle corn, and another $10 bucks for rides.
