FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A big part of the Big Fresno Fair is the livestock show, with over 1,500 exhibitors set to be in attendance this year.

The kids who raise the animals work year-round to get them ready to be shown at the fair. One main part of the livestock Pavilion is to recognize those kids who work hard to get these animals ready.

While each week brings new people with different kinds of livestock -- organizers say being a part of the livestock Pavillion every year is really like being a part of a family.

"This is like a family reunion every year. These kids come back, some of the kids have large families so we've seen them all grow up here and so it's a family reunion we actually remember everybody by name. There may be 1,500 people in the barn but we know them all by name," said Terri O'Leary-Collins.

Event organizers also say that raising these livestock for the fair is a full-time job for participants. These animals will be open to the public to see for the remainder of the Big Fresno Fair.
