FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- One person is dead after falling into Silliman Creek in Sequoia National Park.

Park officials say the 26-year-old woman was reportedly walking along the Twin Lakes Trail when she fell in and was swept away by the current.

After a search for the woman, she was later found downstream.

Officials want to remind the public that river and water crossing can be swift and dangerous this time of year due to snowpack melt.

Right now, trail delays could be in store for hikers as rangers work to secure the area.
