3-year-old flown to Valley Children's Hospital after being hit by vehicle in Merced

MERCED, Calif. (KFSN) -- Merced Police are still searching for the person responsible for a hit and run crash that left a 3-year-old child with major injuries.

The crash happened in the area of R Street and 18th in Merced around 3:45 pm.

The three-year-old girl was walking with her mom and siblings along an intersection when a driver ran a red light then struck the child.

The child was unresponsive and was life flighted to Valley Children's Hospital.

Police have a bit of video and based on that, they are looking for a late 90's to early 2000's maroon Honda Accord.
