Fresno police are searching for two suspects after a man with special needs was shot twice at a bus station in East Central Fresno.

Police responded to the shooting just after 10 am Sunday morning near Peach and Olive Avenues.

When they first arrived they did not find a victim. Later on, they were told there was a man with gunshot wounds in an apartment complex nearby.

Lt. Mike Brogdon of the Fresno Police Department said, "It's his routine to come out to the bus bench on a daily basis to sit there and catch the bus and today he did the same thing when that vehicle drove by and for unknown reasons, fired upon the victim."

The 33-year-old man was hit in the upper torso and lower leg.

The victim was taken to Community Regional Medical Center where he is expected to recover.

Officials say the suspects were in an older model grey vehicle but do not have any other information at this time.

Right now authorities are trying to determine if the victim was targeted.
