Deputy's spirit of giving is going strong into the new year

The Tulare County Sheriff's Office decided to turn things around for a Porterville family after their home was burglarized after Christmas.

One of the items the burglar took -- was a brand new pair of shoes that this young boy had received for Christmas.

Deputy Verenzuela had investigated the theft and Saturday returned to the home with a special surprise.

He brought a new pair of shoes to the little boy.
