Man dies after walking onto HWY 180 on ramp

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- An investigation is underway after a body was found on Highway 180 near Van Ness Avenue in Central Fresno.

Highway patrol officers say a man had walked up the on-ramp near Van Ness when he made his way onto the freeway.

That's when he was hit by a vehicle.

The driver pulled over and is now cooperating with officials in the investigation.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
