FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno State students, staff and faculty came together for a drug abuse awareness walk.

Nearly 100 people attended the event put on by the university's student government.

The walk comes nearly two weeks after Fresno State student, Omar Nemeth, passed away from an overdose at a frat house.

Organizers say the walk is to help students become more aware about prescription drugs on campus.

President Joseph Castro and Assemblyman Jim Patterson both attended the event.
