Fresno PD step up enforcement operations to make roads safer

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Ten officers from the traffic bureau worked a 10-hour pedestrian and bicyclist enforcement operation Saturday.

It took place from 2 p.m. to midnight and covered all five policing districts.

Authorities say 35 bicycle citations and 72 pedestrian citations were issued.

Police say from 2013 to 2015, there were more than 50 fatalities involving pedestrians and bicyclists.
