Scammers posing as PG&E call Mariposa County Sheriff's Office
Scammers dialed the wrong number when they tried to pose as PG&E.

MARIPOSA, Calif. (KFSN) -- Scammers dialed the wrong number when they tried to pose as PG&E.

A man on the phone threatened the Mariposa County Sheriff's Office saying their power was going to be turned off if they didn't pay. The scammer quickly hung up the phone once they realized who they had called.

Pg&E wants to warn the community they are not making phone calls about past due balances and they will never ask for financial information over the phone.
