FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Police are investigating a car accident in Central Fresno within a few weeks of a deadly accident at the same intersection.
Investigators got the call around 8:40 p.m. Wednesday. Fresno police say a Chevy Camaro was traveling at a high rate of speed when it ran a stop sign and hit another vehicle at Valentine and Weber avenues. One of the cars was on fire at one point, prompting more than a dozen officers to respond.
On November 14, a woman was killed at the same intersection when she pulled in front of a large work truck.
"What we're gonna do is meet with city officials and other Caltrans people to try to see if there's something that we can do about this intersection being that there's been two injury accidents, one fatal within the last week," said Justin Hoagland of the Fresno Police Department.
At this point, the driver that ran the stop sign is not facing any charges. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
Four people hurt in the accident are recovering at Community Regional Medical Center.
