5.0 earthquake strikes near Clearlake

California residents have felt a series of earthquakes over the last day.

FRESNO, California (KFSN) -- The United States Geological Survey (USGS) is reporting a 5.0 magnitude earthquake hit 4 miles west of The Geysers and 14 miles southwest of Clearlake, California.

The earthquake hit at 8:41 a.m. on Wednesday and comes after a series of medium size earthquakes in Mammoth Lakes and the Central Coast. According to the USGS, is was primarily felt in the Clearlake and Santa Rosa areas but was also felt throughout the Bay Area.

There are no initial reports of any damage.
