FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Fresno health club is offering some free workout time to two of its members who got locked inside the gym recently.
"I'm locked with my friend inside of Blast Fitness on Blackstone. I guess they closed, and they left us in the sauna," Qiona Johnson told a 911 dispatcher.
Johnson and a friend got locked inside a Blast Fitness location last weekend after the gym closed for the night. They were locked inside for a couple of hours. After trying to get help from another Blast Fitness center, they called police.
"They locked the doors, so we can't get out. We were in the sauna. We were able to get out of the sauna, but we came downstairs, and we can't get out of the building," Johnson told Action News.
A regional vice president of Blast Fitness said there are supposed to be several announcements before closing, but the intercom can't be heard from the gym's sauna.
Johnson says she got no apology from the employee and never heard from corporate offices when she complained to Blast Fitness. But she did get a call from the vice president after he talked to Action News. Now he's offered both of the women free 60-day memberships to make up for the lock-in, but they want out of their contracts.
