An admitted gang member is under arrest after police say he was caught stealing from Roosevelt High School in Southeast Fresno.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- An admitted gang member is under arrest after police say he was caught stealing from Roosevelt High School in Southeast Fresno.

Jacob Cruz was arrested early Tuesday morning after Fresno Police officers responded to burglar alarms at the school. Investigators say Cruz first told officers he was collecting recyclables, but officers discovered a duffle bag owned by Cruz filled with $10,000 worth of laptops that belong to the school.

Cruz is now facing charges for burglary and violating probation.
