Big rig driver hits three cars while reaching for cell phone, Dinuba police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A semi-truck driver learned the dangers of distracted driving the hard way.

Officers with the Dinuba Police Department were called out to an accident just after 2 a.m. on Thursday where the driver had crashed into three parked cars on Alta near Franklin Way. Police say the semi driver told them he looked down to get his cell phone when the accident happened.

He was not hurt. No one was in the parked cars at the time of the crash.
