FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A fire destroyed a house in Northeast Fresno on Tuesday night. The blaze broke out near Laureen and Norwich avenues.

Firefighters say when they arrived they were in rescue mode, searching through the house for people. Luckily no one was injured.

The fire billowed out of the house and there were even several explosions that came from the garage. Investigators haven't determined what caused the explosions, but neighbors say there's a history of drug use there.

Fresno Fire Battalion Chief Chuck Tobias says it'll take them a while to sweep through what's left of the rubble.

"They collected a lot of stuff. I don't want to say that they were hoarders, but every room has a lot of stuff in there, as well as on the sides and the backyard," said Tobias. "So, we're going to be sifting through a lot of stuff just to make sure that there's no further fire or threat."

Investigators initially said that a man was taken into custody for suspected arson, but they later said he was being held on unrelated charges as they continued to search for where the fire started.

Neighbors say this incident started as a domestic fight, and then someone set the house on fire. But, officials who are still investigating the scene have not confirmed that information.
