FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A 16-year-old is facing attempted murder charges after Coalinga police say he stabbed a 19-year-old over a drug deal gone wrong. It happened near the intersection of Lincoln and Baker streets.

But officers didn't find out about the crime until the victim showed up at a local hospital around 8 a.m. Sunday. The 19-year-old was later flown to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno for surgery because he had a punctured lung and other wounds.

Investigators arrested the suspect at a friend's house just blocks away from the crime scene.
