Wildfire breaks out near Coalinga
Fire crews are working to put out a wildfire growing in Western Fresno County.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fire crews are working to put out a wildfire growing in Western Fresno County that has burned more than 1,500 acres and is 20 percent contained.

Los Gatos Creek Road is closed from Derrick Avenue to the San Benito County line.

Flames broke out just after 10:30 p.m. on Sunday at Los Gatos Creek Road and Derrick Road west of Coalinga. No structures are threatened, and no evacuations are in place. Cal Fire says they have stopped forward progress of the fire.

"We have six crews on the fire right now and additional resources still trickling in," said Capt. Jeremiah Wittwer, Cal Fire

There is no word on what started the fire at this time.
