Dive team pulls body from Bear Creek in Merced County

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Authorities are searching for answers after a woman's body was found in a Merced waterway.

Witnesses first spotted someone floating in Bear Creek near 28th Street and Martin Luther King Junior Way, Tuesday evening.

The sheriff's office dive team arrived a short time later and recovered the body.

Police say it appears the woman may have been in the water for a couple of days. The coroner's office is now trying to identify her and determine how she died.
