FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A popular boat race is canceled for the first time in 60 years because of the drought.

The High Sierra Regatta was supposed to be held this weekend at Huntington Lake.

Organizers of the regatta were expecting about 150 boats and sailors from all over the country. But now they say water levels are at just 33 percent and are expected to stay that way throughout the summer.

The Fresno Yacht Club says it's now making plans for 2015 instead.
