FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Investigators are trying to determine the cause of a fire that destroyed an Orange Cove thrift store early Saturday morning.

Flames swallowed the store from the inside even as firefighters poured water on it from all directions. The building has been there for almost 100 years, and it's connected to the first Presbyterian Church next door.

The pastor and some church members got together when they heard what was happening, but they couldn't do much more than just watch the store burn.

Firefighters kept the flames from jumping to the church, and they say nobody was hurt in the fire.
