Edison High student arrested for having handgun

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Police arrested a student Friday at Edison High School in southwest Fresno for illegal possession of a firearm.

Police found a 9mm handgun found in the 16-year-old student's backpack. That student along with two others were taken in by a student resource officer.

It all started when they tried to leave campus after staff members say they were suspected of smoking marijuana.
