Elderly woman killed after being hit by car in Northeast Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A woman has died after being hit by a car in Northeast Fresno Tuesday.

Police said the driver, a man in his 70's, was traveling north on Fresno Street when he struck a 72-year-old woman who was crossing at El Paso Avenue. The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

The woman was taken to the hospital where she later died.

It's not yet known if he will face charges.
