FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- We're learning more about the actions of a former Cal Fire battalion chief accused of murder.

According to the estranged wife of Orville "Moe" Fleming, he texted her multiple times before and after he allegedly killed his girlfriend, Sarah Douglas. Meagan Fleming says he texted her asking to get back together, and then asked her for a ride.

"He was saying 'I want my family back. Come get me, come pick me up, please, please, please,'" Meagan Fleming told our sister station KXTV in Sacramento. "I said, 'No. Absolutely not.'"

Hours later, she says she received a final text message that simply read "you should have came and picked me up."

Officials say Orville Fleming is armed and could be hiding out in the Sierra or Yosemite Valley because of his family ties to the area.
