Family of man stabbed and killed at Fresno bus stop determined to see killer brought to justice

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Family members and friends of a man randomly stabbed at a Fresno bus stop tell Action News they're determined to bring Martin Holt's killer to justice.

Emilio Mancia's was in court Tuesday and seeing the man arrested for killing 36-year-old Holt was emotional for his friends and family.

"It comes as just a traumatizing shock. Something you wouldn't even believe," said Rayna Savala, Martin Holt's friend.

Authorities charged 32-year-old Mancia last week. Calling him the main suspect in a fatal stabbing near a bus stop on Blackstone and Belmont back on May 14th.

Savala said Holt leaves behind an 11-year old son.

"He took a life. This person has a kid. He was one of my best friends and he was always there for everybody and it's just sad," said Savala.

Court records show Mancia has 33 cases in Fresno County's criminal court system, including arrests for battery and drug offenses. Many of the cases were dismissed.

Officers said Mancia pulled a knife on Holt after the two got into an argument. Holt collapsed on the sidewalk and later died after being stabbed in the neck. Afterward, authorities said Mancia ran away.

A few days later he was picked up for a parole violation and then deemed a person of interest in the case.

Savala said she and Holt's family will not miss a single court appearance for Mancia.

"Marty was the best person I knew. Marty was a good hearted person, he was there for everybody and anybody all the time. That's why I want to be here for him."

Mancia is under special supervision at the Fresno County jail.

He asked the judge for a speedy trial and is expected back in court next week.
