FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno City Fire crews battled a fire at an abandoned house Thursday night. The fire started a little after 9 p.m. near Belmont Avenue and First Street in Central Fresno.

When firefighters arrived, heavy flames could be seen pouring out of the building. But after a quick initial attack with 25 firefighters, the fire was knocked down in about 15 minutes.

Firefighters say it's too early to tell what started the fire, but there may have been homeless people inside the boarded up structure. The fire caused $20,000 to $30,000 in damage.
