FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Firefighters battled a two-alarm fire in Southeast Fresno on Saturday afternoon.

It started in an alleyway at 9th Street and Jensen Avenue just before 2 p.m. The flames caught some garages and vehicles on fire, and threatened other structures in the area. Crews quickly knocked down the flames and saved most of the property in the area.

Officials say they were stretched thin because of a fire near Chukchansi Park and had to call for mutual aid from the county.

Two people were treated at the scene, but officials say their injuries were not related to the fire. An ambulance was also there to help firefighters rehab and stay safe while working in the heat.

The cause of this fire is still under investigation, and there's no estimate yet on the cost of the damage.
