Former Fresno State mascot facing 5 misdemeanor counts of sexual battery
A former Fresno State student and university mascot now faces five misdemeanor counts of sexual battery.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A former Fresno State student and university mascot now faces five misdemeanor counts of sexual battery.

Investigators said Deandre Jean-Pierre groped people near campus-- police arrested him last year.

Police said he is connected to at least eight incidents and if convicted he could be required to register as a sex offender.

Jean-Pierre served as one of the "Timeout" mascots.

Jean-Pierre is scheduled to be arraigned later in February.
