Four Teenagers in Custody After Armed Carjackings
The Teens Stole Their First Car Around 8 p.m. Friday Near Shaw and Highway 99, Police said.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Four teenagers are in custody after a series of armed carjackings in Fresno.

The teens stole their first car around 8 p.m. Friday near Shaw Avenue and Highway 99, police said. They jacked a second car near West and Ashlan avenues shortly after. And then one last car on Martin Luther King and California avenues.

Officers found the last car a while later on Highway 99 and chased the suspects before they crashed near Shaw and Grantland avenues. Lt. Mindy Casto with the Fresno Police department said "it was a tremendous effort by our officers anticipating what direction the suspects vehicle would go after the carjacking and they were right on," Casto said. "They were able to intercept the vehicle, take most of the suspects into custody and our feeling is that they prevented future violence tonight."

Investigators believe they found the gun used in the carjackings but a fifth suspect got away.

No injuries were reported and the teens face multiple criminal charges.
