Fresno County gets funding boost for veteran care
The Board of Supervisors approved several contracts totaling millions of dollars to expand drug and mental health treatment and housing for veterans, immigrants and the homeless.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Funding for mental health, drug abuse and homeless treatment is getting a boost in Fresno County.

The Board of Supervisors approved several contracts totaling millions of dollars to expand drug and mental health treatment and housing for veterans, immigrants and the homeless.

In addition, money was allocated for child abuse prevention.

Most of the funds are coming from state and federal grants.

The programs will be administered by local agencies that contract with the county.
