FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A stolen 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle is now headed back to its rightful owner thanks to Fresno's Auto Theft Task Force or HEAT Team.

The car was stolen from Bobby Martin's home in Fresno on August 10th. Nearly a month later, the car has been recovered from East Central Fresno.

Investigators say they found two separate chop shops on the property -- as well as a small marijuana grow. Officers took two people into custody. Investigators say they're happy the owners of Chevelle get their car back.

Officer Matt Matsumura said, "Hopefully it makes the weekend of the family. The holiday weekend that's coming up. It's also a good reminder for people that auto theft is a crime of opportunity. You can do whatever you can to make your vehicle less conspicuous to an auto theft."

We spoke to Bobby Martin Friday night. He says he's ecstatic to have his car back and appreciates all of the hard work put into finding it.
