FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A 26-year-old Fresno man has been found guilty of murdering his father and could spend the rest of his life in prison.

Late Tuesday afternoon, a jury found Peter Yang guilty of first degree murder and using a firearm to kill. Each conviction carries a sentence of 25-years to life in prison.

Yang shot his 59-year-old father six times at a Southeast Fresno home. He never denied killing the man, but told jurors his father was abusive to family members and used drugs in their home. Sentencing is set for next month.
