Fresno Police investigating a suspicious death in West Central Fresno

FRESNO, California (KFSN) -- A man was found dead this morning in Fresno -- face down in a flower bed.

Police are calling it a suspicious death. Investigators say, a woman found the body around 6:30 a.m. near Shields and Parkway in west-central Fresno.

The initial call described the man as possibly unconscious. When officers investigated, they discovered the man had actually been wounded and there was blood at the scene.

"On his back, there were no obvious wounds, you really have to get close to see he's actually bleeding on his torso. So you really have to get close to get down there and look at his shirt," said Joe Gomez, Fresno Police Department.

Police have not identified the man. He was possibly in his 20s or 30s. Investigators are still looking for clues to his death.
