FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- An armed robbery got even more dangerous Saturday when the robber opened fire.

Fresno Police said the suspect burst into Broadway Liquor in Central Fresno.

He threatened the woman behind the counter and she cooperated when he demanded money, but things went a little haywire after he got the money and then tried to take the cash register.

"At that point, when they left, the gun was fired twice," Sgt. Paul Preston with the Fresno Police Department said. "Once inside and, we believe, once outside."

Investigators say they don't know where the gun was aimed or if the shots were even intentional.

The robber was wearing a bandana over his face, so police don't have a great description of him right now.
