FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Police are still looking for the man that led them on an hours-long pursuit spanning miles of North Fresno.

31-year-old Fresno man Rene Henry Garcia is wanted on charges of burglary, credit card fraud, evading police, and being in possession of a stolen gun.

It all began at around 12:40 p.m. at Massage Palace, where Garcia made his first purchase using a stolen credit card he took in a vehicle burglary.

After failing to stop for officers in a Northwest Fresno neighborhood, police say Garcia drove a silver Chevy Malibu recklessly between Northwest and Northeast Fresno, throwing a loaded handgun out of the window along the way.

Officers called off a vehicle pursuit, and eventually a California Highway Patrol helicopter had to stop and refuel.

Eventually, they found his car at an abandoned home in North Fresno, where police believe his family may have helped him out.

"It looks like he dropped the car off here, he probably called them, and they picked him up here," Fresno Police Lt. Joe Gomez said. "Why here, I don't know if he's from this neighborhood, (if) he has a girlfriend in this neighborhood, I'm not sure."

Police are offering a cash reward for anyone with information of Garcia's whereabouts. Call police with any information.
