Fresno State and American University of Armenia strike historic deal
The deal will lead to a wide range of educational initiatives such as a faculty and student exchange, joint research and a study abroad program.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A historic move made Friday at Fresno State, with a pact signed between the California State University and the American University of Armenia.

The new partnership was announced Friday with a special signing ceremony. It will lead to a wide range of educational initiatives such as a faculty and student exchange, joint research and a Study Abroad Program.

"And our event today will help to pave the way for subsequent agreements to create exchanges that will provide education and research opportunities for members of both," Fresno State president Dr. Joseph Castro said.

The American University of Armenia is a US-accredited institution. It's based in Armenia and is affiliated with the University of California.
