FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno residents are making significant gains in saving water.
The city's Department of Public Utilities released numbers on Monday for the month of July. Fresno residents used over 4 billion gallons of water last month, compared to 5 billion gallons in July 2013.
The reduction surpasses a state conservation mandate of 28 percent, and it follows a drop in water consumption of 30 percent in June of this year, compared to the same month in 2013.
