Fresno woman dies after saving her dog from an oncoming train

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Police say a woman trying save her dog from being hit by train was struck and killed. It happened near Diana Street and Grant Avenue on Monday.

Investigators say 50-year-old Lina Hall was jumping up and down trying to catch the attention of the approaching freight train. They say Hall was able to get the small dog off the tracks but she was hit and killed. The dog survived.
